2018 Wedding Dress Trends

Want to know the latest wedding-dress trends before you kick off a season of wedding-dress shopping? 2018 has thrown us a curve ball with some amazing new styles that are untraditional - but beautiful when you see how great they look together.

Tina Waller is a highly experienced wedding dress designer and has picked out the top wedding dress and accessory trends for 2018 for you fashion forward brides.

Pearls

Pearls are big news and a timeless wedding accessory whether on your wedding dress or as an accessory. Whatever your bridal style – classic, boho, vintage or country – they can work with any look. Incorporated into your overall wedding theme, there are so many different pearl accessories, decorations and designs available and possibilities for pretty and tasteful embellishments.

Bows

Bows are coming back in favour and wedding dress designers are going crazy for the ultra-feminine, ultra-chic look for their brides! From soft and romantic to preppy and perfect, bows are such a classic wedding dress detail, which is why we love seeing them everywhere lately. No matter which way the bow is worn, the style never fails to be fun and flirty — and its versatility means there's a choice befitting every bride's personal style.

Lace

Lace wedding dresses have long been a standard in bridal gowns and make no exception this year. Wedding dress designers and brides are drawn toward vintage-inspired lace with impeccable construction and a flawless finish. Bridal lace has for many centuries been used in wedding dresses for its feminine and embellishing charms.

Plainer Fabrics

Mikados, duchess satin, dupion silks are fabrics that are hot right now for 2018. Highlight with some beading or wear with bolder jewellery to create a statement. These fine fabrics are suited to classic lines and shapes, so if you are an elegant bride, with a passion for nobility and pure sophisticated, plainer fabrics are your ideal choice.

Back Jewellery

Statement back jewellery in pearl, crystal and diamante can be worn with backless dresses and are certainly on trend in 2018. Beauty has to be emphasized, and that's exactly what back necklaces do to highlight your low back wedding dress. A pendant trailing down your spine also adds a subtle touch of elegance.

Pale Blue Gowns

Pale blue wedding dresses are a great alternative for a modern-day bride who wants to express her individuality and personal style. Brides and designers are being inspired this year by pale blue as they look very delicate, tender and cool and fit most appearance types.

Pockets

Can you guess what one of our favourite playful, modern wedding fashion trends is? Pockets! Who doesn't love the look and feel of pockets? They're cozy, cute, and convenient, and luckily for brides, wedding dress designers this year are now debuting gowns that come with them sewn-in.

Rose Gold Accessories

If you're a rose gold obsessive, you’ll be pleased to hear it is one of the hottest wedding accessory trends this year. Rose gold shades are warmer than silver and richer in colouring than gold so why not make a statement and explore the possibilities of rose gold to compliment your wedding dress.
